Teahouse

If you were to stroll the alleys and back streets of historic Mineral Point, admiring the Cornish rock cottages, 19th century Greek Revivals, and 20th century Victorians, you might be startled to come upon a Japanese style teahouse floating on a koi pond in a lushly landscaped garden.

My clients had a vision and they had a talented carpenter.  I became the lucky designer who sketched and detailed this 12x12 lovely into being.  We used sliding screen doors for walls, and a timber frame for structure.  Notice bamboo alternating with boards for roof sheathing.

A special thanks to Randy Fleming and Joel Duncanson of Mineral Point for their fine craftsmanship and good ideas.
