The before and after photos don't look like the same house! This project was a complete gut job, with 300 square feet of new space added to the front.
The entire house was raised temporarily while concrete block was laid on the existing foundation to increase the height of the basement. Then, the flat roof was removed and replaced with low pitched trusses.
The exterior was remade in the Arts & Crafts style with cement board shingles above a bandboard on the upper third of the wall and cement board lap siding below. Wood columns on top of tapered stucco piers grace the front porch and anchor the garage corner. New casement windows feature a divided light pattern in the upper third of the sash.
